Aslan is alive and on the move, The battle has been won. The Kingdom of Narnia restored. Peter, Edmund, Susan, and Lucy will be crowned high kings and queens of Narnia. Rose is saved from the cold North Atlantic waters. George Bailey is saved from the world without him. He is living again with Mary and his kids. Marty makes it home after seeing that his future Mom and Dad are in love and will start a life together. Will he do the same with Jennifer? Will Doc and Clara marry and go back to the future?
The ring has been destroyed, the earth swallowed Sauron and his millions of orcs. Frodo and Sam have been rescued by the Eagles. The Lady Arwen and the Lord Aragorn will soon be together. The King has returned. The Beast has been Transformed, born again as it were, and has his Belle. They have kissed for the first time. Voldemort is dead, Harry is alive, back from the dead. Will He and Ginnie, Ron and Hermione have magical lives together and be friends forever?
Lives, Loves and Kingdoms have now been restored but that one question remains, and what a question it is,
Do they Live Happily Ever After?
Wow, just think about that. Can it be possible? To live happily ever after? It is an amazing thought.
In Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Aslan sends Edmund and Lucy home, back to their own world from his wonderful country where everyone is happy. This is a sad thing to do in many respects but can Happily Ever After still happen for them? I think it can if they choose to find out where true happiness comes from or should I say from whom it comes from.
That is what stories do, they take us to a place where we can begin to see what the biggest story of all is. Where we first learn the concept, the idea of Living Happily Every After. After what? After transformation, restoration, after sacrifice, after death, after Resurrection and redemption, and most of all Love, getting it and giving it . These are the things that make life actually worth living both in the present, the future, and forever,
